You can post questions and share resources and ideas on the members-only listserv. A national directory of state equity contacts and affiliate members is maintained at the national office and is distributed regularly to members. You can also access the directory online at the NAPE website. - Timely Federal Policy Alerts Members receive up-to-the-minute information about federal and state policy affecting education and workforce development. The regular updates and alerts that are sent out on the members-only listserv will inform you of federal policy activity and alert you to action that you can choose to take to impact decisions before they are made.
- Reduced Registration Fees NAPE sponsors an annual Professional Development Institute (PDI) held in Washington, D.C., each spring. As a member, you will be eligible for a reduced registration fee at the PDI.
- Free/Discounted Publications Members receive a free sample of all NAPE publications and additional copies at a discount. NAPE also regularly publishes curriculum, research and policy analyses with national partners.
- Free Resources Members receive free resources, collected by NAPE staff and shared by other NAPE members. NAPE is known across the nation as the best equity resource network. Members regularly share developed publications and resources-free of charge.
- Technical Assistance Members have access to our expert staff at the national office via phone and e-mail. Don't hesitate to call them whenever you have a technical assistance question. If they don't know the answer, they will find it for you.
- National Advocacy NAPE regularly responds to requests from Congress and the Administration for feedback regarding the development of federal policy and legislation. NAPE also develops policy papers on current issues in equity in education and workforce development and shares these with national policy makers. National office staff members make regular visits to legislators' offices to represent your concerns regarding federal policy.
- Organization Leadership As a member you will have the opportunity to provide input into the development of NAPE's annual Program of Work and to make a difference by serving on the NAPE Executive Committee or participating on other NAPE committees. Participation on a committee is one of the most valuable ways you can provide leadership and help build a stronger organization that works for you.
Levels of Membership State Level Membership State government level membership may be granted to any state agency responsible for (Perkins allocated funds) leadership, technical assistance, and professional development about equity issues in education related to workforce development, including career and technical education. Each state-level member designates a voting representative to serve on the Board of Directors and to be the primary contact person for NAPE. State level member agencies can have up to 10 individuals on the NAPE listserv. All staff of the organization will have access to the website resources. Apply On-line. Affiliate Membership Level I : For local and community based organizations from member states. $100 per year NEW! Level II : For local and community based organizations from states that do not have State Level Membership. $200 per year (is your state a member?) Affiliate membership may be granted to local and community agencies, organizations, and businesses within a member state (level I) or non-member states (level II) and all national organizations that wish to partner with NAPE members to promote equity in education and workforce development. Each affiliate shall designate a non-voting representative to serve on the Board of Directors to be the primary contact person for NAPE and receive the NAPE listserv communications.
